I Love New Things!!!

So, today I got something new. I've been wanting it for a long time as I've been tired of looking at this old thing ever since I got it. It just simply didn't match. So what is it that I hated?

My kitchen table. It was awful as a kitchen table. It was "wicker" with a glass top table and rolly chairs with pastel colored seat cushions. It would be perfect if you had a condo at the Lake or in Florida or something...but in my house, as a real kitchen table...it simply didn't jive.

So, I'd been on the lookout for something that would match my kitchen and I finally found it. And it's all thanks to my in laws and their wonderful furniture store. (God I love that they sell furniture. Once they stop, I'm gonna be in a world of hurt! I get my furniture so cheap from them!)

I wanted a new table for one other reason (besides the fact that it didn't match) and that was because my old kitchen table only had seating for 4. Since our families are growing now and since I'm probably having Christmas this year...I wanted a place for the whole family to sit down together and eat. And there was no way that was happening at either of the 2 tables I'd already had (I have a "decorative" table in my "dining" room).

So now...without further adieu...my brand spanking new kitchen table! (It's sad when you get excited about a kitchen table...it's a definite sign you're an adult! lol!):

It's a good thing my kitchen is big because this table is HUGE! It's a butterfly leaf table though, so I can get it down really easy. And the other thing was it's a high top table...but I think I'll be able to live with that. The only weird thing is walking in my kitchen right now and seeing this huge, tall thing instead of my short little old table. I'm sure I'll get used to it. :)

This last picture, I'm just throwing in because I found it on my camera and I love it...it has absolutely nothing to do with the table.

They're so cute when they're sleeping. :)
