Well, last night, I went to my SIL's baby shower. It was just your average baby shower...nothing too exciting. The theme was ducks. So my SIL got everything ducky under the sun. I'm not sure I understand why they did the duck theme and not something girly girly. I mean, they know the sex. I can see doing ducks if you don't know...(or maybe if it's a boy) but they definitely know it's a girl. Guess I'm just weird and would want to get a bunch of pink stuff. lol! Although, since they plan on having more than one...they can reuse all the duck stuff if they have a boy. Me, since I know I'm only having 1, it won't matter.
My mother in law and I are throwing a shower for her next week. It's next Wednesday. We'll see how that goes. I wasn't planning on making it real elaborate, but after seeing last night's and the way it was set up so cute, I might consider decorating a little at least.
We will definitely be having better food at ours though. Last night's dinner was awful. I didn't know it was possible to screw up spaghetti, but apparently, there is. We plan on serving little sandwiches, maybe things like mini quiches, and my favorite parts, the cupcakes I plan on making and the chocolate fountain! I think Emily will like that. I hope she enjoys our shower.
It still amazes me this little girl...whom they're naming Katie...will be in our lives in just 2 and a half months. Oh! Totally random...but I felt her kick last night. First time I've ever felt a baby kick. Anyway...I'll keep you all posted and let you know all about how my shower turns out. :)
